Useful Transportation Tickets /Cards

Kansai Thru Pass
a convenient unlimited rides ticket applicable to JR and other private railways and local buses (except for JR bus and Airport Limousine Bus) in Nara, Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Wakayama, Himeji and Otsu. There are two categories: the 2-Day Pass and the 3-Day Pass. Showing this Pass will give you a discount on admission to temples in Kyoto and Nara, and other concessions at about 330 tourist sites in Kansai. If you purchase a coupon ticket in your country, you should exchange your coupon ticket for the Pass at the tourist counter on the first floor of the Kansai International Airport Terminal Building. You can directly purchase a Kansai Thru Pass there on the day of your arrival in Japan or the following day by showing your passport; //www.surutto.com/index.cgi
Nara Kotsu One-day Bus Pass
a bus card to cover major sightseeing spots in Nara city (Nara Park, Todai-ji Temple, Kofuku-ji Temple, Kasuga Shrine, Hokke-ji Temple, Hannya-ji Temple, etc.); allows passengers to hop on and off as many times as they want in one day, within a limited area: 500yen.
Nara & Nishinokyo One-day Bus Pass
a bus card to cover major sightseeing spots in Nara city and Nishinokyo area (Yakushi-ji Temple, Toshodai-ji Temple, etc.); passengers can get on and off as many times as they want in one day, within a limited area: 810yen. A similar bus pass is available which covers Ikaruga/Horyu-ji Temple area in addition to Nara and Nishinokyo area; 1,440yen (also available from JR Oji Sta.).
